The Jockey Club has announced reduced prices for on-course bookmakers operating at midweek fixtures across its racecourse estate from Wednesday, 1st June 2022.
The 25% reduction in fees (x3 multiple of badge price, down from the standard x4) will apply for the next three months - start of June to end of August - and follows constructive dialogue with on-course bookmakers through representatives of the British Racecourse Bookmakers’ Association (BRBA) and the Federation of Racecourse Bookmakers (FRB).
The only midweek fixtures the new policy does not apply to during this period are The Jockey Club’s festival days - the Moët & Chandon July Festival and the Coral Summer Festival - and its racing plus music nights, given the large crowds they attract.
When racing took place with racehorse owners able to attend but not the general public for a period during the Covid-19 pandemic, The Jockey Club waived fees for on-course bookmakers.
The Jockey Club’s 15 racecourses in alphabetical order are: Aintree, Carlisle, Cheltenham, Epsom Downs, Exeter, Haydock Park, Huntingdon, Kempton Park, Market Rasen, Newmarket July Course, Newmarket Rowley Mile, Nottingham, Sandown Park, Warwick and Wincanton.
